RE: Surface Clean & Sports Clean Plus Effective Against 2009 H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu)

In our continuing effort to keep consumers updated and educated on the effectiveness of CSG products against the H1N1 Virus, (Swine Flu) I would like to clarify that the following CSG products are effective against the 2009 H1N1.

Virus:
• SurfaceClean® and SportsClean® Plus are effective against the H1N1 Virus. Please read the brief statements below for CSG’s official position on the 2009 H1N1 Virus.

• CSG’s cleaner disinfectants, SurfaceClean® and SportsClean® Plus, will effectively eliminate Influenza A. As such, the U.S. Environmental Protection agency has recommended that products effective against Influenza A can be used to clean and disinfect facilities where there are suspected or confirmed cases of the H1N1 Virus.

• Viruses, such as H1N1 typically pass from human-to-human. However, it can be passed by touching a surface and then touching either the mouth or nose.

• The Centers Disease Control and Prevention recommends avoiding contact with surfaces that may have been contaminated with the flu.

• SurfaceAide® 1000, the long-lasting antimicrobial product used in CSG’s Surface Antimicrobial System (SAS), has the potential to minimize the risk of viruses spreading because its antimicrobial characteristics continually inhibit the growth of host organisms. This is particularly important because host organisms can facilitate the spread of the virus.

Evo Saves The Day
Emergency Management and Disaster Relief

At about 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, the Hawaiian Island of Oahu experienced an Island-wide power outage caused by a lightning strike to power lines. The lightning storm over Honolulu knocked out electricity for almost the entire island of Oahu as people from Waikiki to Kaneohe were plunged into darkness including President Obama, who was there for the memorial service of his grandmother.

At the Halekulani Resort in Waikiki, Executive Chef, Vikram Garg didn't panic because he had Evo on his side. On the morning of December 27th, Chef Vikram cooked a full breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage and hash browns for 400 guests - on a single Evo Professional Wheeled Cart. Crisis averted! "I love it and our guests love it - we cook everything on it," said Chef Vikram.

Situations can happen any time, from natural or man-made causes. While brief power outages are mundane and minor inconveniences, extended outages can find people trapped in locations without the ability to obtain or prepare meals. “People are counting on eating three times a day. You can’t just say come back in a day or so when we can cook again,” notes Evo COO Charlie Zupsic. “Like parents in a household, managers of public venues have a stewardship over those under their roof. “

Chef Adam Zwerling adds: “The cooking versatility and social dynamic of Evo portable cooktops make them year round favorites, but we were most pleased that they could help us thru a troubling time when we lost power at the start of a Culinary Vegetable Institute fundraising dinner. All us guests chefs jumped on the Evo to create our portions.”

Evo Professional Commercial Cart and Tabletop models offer a complete cooking platform by allowing direct and indirect cooking techniques. They can easily be transported and set –up with minimal effort for an event – planned or unexpected.
Whatever food is available can be prepared hot and flavorful to satisfy the crowd, and soothe an anxious soul!

Evo has a short ROI period for everyday business use, enough to easily justify its purchase. But if you’re the least bit hesitant, then also having Evo as part of your emergency preparedness plan should prompt you to acquire one today.

RJ Thomas Mfg. Co. Celebrates 50th Anniversary

R.J. Thomas Mfg. Co. was founded in 1959 by R.J. and Doris Thomas to build agricultural machinery of R.J.’s own design. The business also took on custom work. That custom work is what brought the Cherokee County Conservation Board into the plant one day with a need for a charcoal grill to be used in a new county park. The grill proved popular and the product line evolved to include picnic tables, benches and campfire rings. The selection of “Pilot Rock” as the brand name for this product line was influenced by the enormous glacial landmark near the factory. Today the Pilot Rock brand is recognized internationally. The company is still owned by the Thomas family, and some production facilities are still located at the site of R.J.’s original building. You can read a more complete company history at www.pilotrock.com/50thHistory.htm.

Pilot Rock Park Equipment is designed and manufactured in the United States by R.J. Thomas Mfg. Co. Inc., Cherokee, IA, since 1959… celebrating 50 years of service in 2009. The Pilot Rock product line includes picnic tables, pedestal grills, park and street site benches, campfire rings, bike racks, trash and recycling receptacles and lids, lantern poles and more.
