The IMCEA Leadership

The mission of IMCEA is to assist the individual Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program and activity managers in developing techniques and management skills necessary to assure the outstanding military MWR System through education, communication, cooperation, recruitment and retention. Additional objectives of the Association are: to foster and maintain high standards and ethical practices among military MWR executives; to encourage and maintain a spirit of harmony and cooperation among members of the profession; to encourage a continued improvement in the skills, materials, and resources employed in the profession; to provide a legally constituted medium through which its members may direct and coordinate their collective efforts and ideas; by mutual endeavor, to promote and inspire public esteem by or through dissemination of information and educational programs; to work in coordination with regional and local associations in the interest of the profession; to speak for the military MWR executive profession as a whole on an international level and represent its interest at all times.

The IMCEA Board of Directors is the volunteer, policy-making body of the association elected by the members. The entire Board is composed of 17 individuals representing the broad membership of the association, the IMCEA Chapters and the Chapter Presidents. The Executive Committee is composed of six elected officers.

The Board and Officers are elected through a Nominating Committee process. Terms for officers are one year for Officers and three years for board members with some exceptions. The nomination process is comprehensive. It has as its paramount purpose, the selection of the most effective leaders for IMCEA given the current opportunities and challenges. Balance is key in the growth and evolution of an international association with over 950 members. The Board provides strategic direction for the association by prioritizing the programs and services to be offered to members.

They have pledged their services to represent and maintain this organization as a professional vehicle of support and training for MWR professionals worldwide.

IMCEA’s Board and Officers bring strong leadership skills both within the industry and the association. They are a great resource of information on many different topics.
